Is Poland About to Ban Online Gambling?

Poland could be the next country to ban all forms of online gambling in a draft legislation drawn up by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Donald Tusk revealed last week that within his government, they are drawing up legislation in order to ban gambling outside of casinos as well as advertising for gambling and games of chance.

Set to be ready in a few weeks, the legislation is designed to eliminate ‘one arm bandit’ slot games and other small stake slot games outside of casinos within the next 5 years.

Tusk commented saying that he wants to ban a ‘significant part of the gambling sector’ and wants to see a 20-25% reduction in the gambling sector per year with the aim of online gambling to disappear from Poland’s industry altogether.

Tusk also mentioned that he would increase the taxation on gambling in order to limit and uproot addictive gambling behaviour which threatens children and for the first time, would make gambling illegal for those under 18
